Melbourne is a fantastic place to get out and about.
We'd therefore like to encourage you to participate in as many of these great events as possible!
Some ideas for fun times:
Urban MaxAugust 30. If you like the Romp but fancy something a bit more physical, this may be just the thing for you.
The Great Melbourne Pursuit October 5. For teams of 2 who race around the CBD and inner suburbs of Melbourne, it’s a good warm-up for the Romp being 2 weeks’ prior.
Melbourne Marathon October 12. If you’re not up for running a marathon, try the 5.5km walk or 10km fun run, it’s a great warm up for the Romp being only 1 week prior.
Melbourne International Arts Festival October 9 to 25. If you want to check out what’s hot in the world of music, dance and culture, there are over 100 brilliant shows to choose from.
Melbourne Cycling FestivalOctober 15 to 19. On October 15, show the world you care about the environment and pedal into work on ‘Ride To Work’ day. For those brave souls lining up for the iconic Around the Bay in a Day bike ride on October 19 (ie on the same day as the Romp), why not bring your family into the city with you so that they can participate in the Romp while you’re torturing yourself on the bike.
Homeless World Cup December 1 to 7. Be at Fed Square in the first week of December to witness some world-class football played by homeless/marginalised people from around the world.
Anaconda Adventure Race, Lorne, December 7. For those intrepid souls who desire the ultimate adrenaline rush while swimming/kayaking in the Great Southern Ocean, or running/cycling in the lush rainforest and hinterland behind Lorne. Burnet Institute is the charity partner for this iconic adventure event.
