About Burnet

Hey, thanks for taking the time to see what the Burnet Institute does. By participating in the Romp you’ll be helping to raise money to fund medical research and public health programs that will benefit people across Australia and overseas. We work on a range of diseases like measles, HIV, hepatitis, malaria and TB; breast, ovarian and prostate cancers; as well as diseases such as Rheumatoid arthritis and lupus. Who is the Burnet Institute?

The Burnet Institute is the leading infectious diseases, immunology, cancer and public health institute in Australia. We have more than 250 scientists and public health professionals based at our laboratory facilities and headquarters in Melbourne, and more than 100 health professionals stationed in 11 offices in seven countries across Africa, Asia and the Pacific.
